Boyzlife are dream team … 90s rivals Keith Duffy and Brian McFadden join forces for new supergroup

90s heart-throbs sign up for new project

THE last time I broke news of a mega boyband merger they went on to sell out a UK tour and score a Top Ten album.

Now two of Britain’s biggest acts of the Nineties are following McBUSTED’s lead by creating what could be the start of the next supergroup.

I can reveal KEITH DUFFY of BOYZONE and BRIAN McFADDEN of WESTLIFE are joining forces to form BOYZLIFE.

The new project, which is being backed and funded by hotel giant Hilton, will see the pair take to the stage to perform a mix of their old bands’ biggest hits, including No Matter What and Flying Without Wings.

It is the brainchild of Keith who went on to join the Coronation Street cast after Boyzone originally split in 2000.

Now both he and Brian — who quit Westlife in 2004 and has been starring in TV reality competition The Jump — are hoping it will open the door to a full-blown merger involving more of their former bandmates.

And I can reveal the .

In an exclusive interview, Brian told me: “We all had a chat, the lads. We said it would be amazing.

“Not even just performing together, but can you imagine the craic? Nine of us Irish lads on a tour bus together, going round the world together.

“It would be absolute carnage. We all get on so well so you never know. We would have so much fun on tour.

“We could end up adding more people to the next one. Right now this is about me and Keith but the door is always open.”

The duo are taking their two-piece show on the road later this year, kicking off in London on October 16 before going on to do 11 more shows nationwide.

And neither of them are ruling out future spin-offs from the shows, including a Boyzlife television series.

Brian added: “I’m sure that if that ever did happen we’d make new music. Westlife have had 14 No1s, Boyzone have had nine or ten. There’s a lot of material we could perform.

“But we wouldn’t want to tour old music all the time. We love making music.”

Keith said: “It might end up on TV and we’ll record a documentary of it.

“We might end up writing some songs together.

“There’s no limit to this. We’re going out there with our ears and eyes open.”

I’m sure their fans will lap it up.
