Sarah Harding checks herself into rehab

Girls Aloud star's battle with alcohol and depression

TROUBLED Girls Aloud star Sarah Harding has checked herself into rehab
suffering from alcohol and depression issues, The Sun can reveal.

She hit “rock bottom” after splitting from her fiancé Tom Crane last month,
sources said.

Sarah was due to wed the 31-year-old DJ next summer — but called off the
engagement after a series of rows.

The couple had clashed over their hellraising lifestyle and the demands on
their careers.

And pals close to the couple said 29-year-old Sarah had “hit the bottle” as
she shut herself off to deal with her heartache.

A source said: “She’s been through a traumatic time in her personal life and
had to honour her work commitments on top. She needs some time out to clear
her head.

“Splitting from Tom has played a huge part in her decision to seek help. She
just needs to get herself back on track emotionally. She had hit rock
bottom.”

Newly red-haired Sarah, who is at a clinic abroad, is a regular on the London
club circuit — often snapped looking worse for wear in the early hours.

Recently, as well as shooting film Run For Your Wife, Sarah has been
involved in plans for the Girls Aloud tenth anniversary reunion next year.

But she had been spending less time than normal with bandmates Nicola Roberts,
26, Cheryl Cole, 28, and Kimberley Walsh, 29 — which set alarm bells
ringing.

The source added: “It all just got the better of her. She had been with Tom
for a long time. All her plans for the future suddenly came crashing down.

“Some of her closest friends had suggested she seek help over the last few
months, but she refused.

“She was burying her head in the sand, but now she is getting support.”

A Girls Aloud spokesman said last night: “Sarah Harding has entered a
treatment centre for depression and alcohol addiction.”
