Strychnine found in corpse of man

A MYSTERY man found dead on a moor died of a lethal dose of poison.

It is the latest twist in a worldwide search to identify the man whose body
was discovered at Saddleworth Moor, Oldham, three months ago.

Detectives are trying to establish a motive for him taking a 200-mile trip
from West London by rail to die there.

Traces of strychnine poison were found after toxicology reports on the man,
aged 60 to 70.

Strychnine is a white powder which can be taken orally, inhaled or injected.
It is a pesticide used to kill rats.

Detective Sergeant John Coleman said: “It’s illegal to purchase strychnine in
the UK.

There is no antidote, There are still many more questions than answers with
this case.”
