JEALOUS Johnny Depp’s marriage to Amber Heard fell apart after he suspected
she had cheated on him with Cara Delevingne.
Bisexual actress Amber, who has won a restraining order against the Pirate of
the Caribbean star, grew close to supermodel Cara after working with her on
a film in 2014.
As they spent more time partying and flaunting their friendship, Johnny, 52,
is said to have become increasingly infuriated by their behaviour.
Johnny was “driven insane” by his suspicions that Amber and model Cara were
“making a fool of him”, a source close to the movie icon claimed last night.
And his fears cast a huge shadow over their marriage as the actor lost all
faith that bisexual Amber, who he wed in February last year, would ever be
loyal.
The source said: “Amber’s friendship with Cara, which grew closer and closer
over time, brought about the beginning of the end for her marriage to Johnny.
“They used to party together a lot and made no attempt to hide the fact that
they were quite flirty.
“Amber always made her bisexual tendencies quite obvious.
“But that would spark furious rows with Johnny, who hated how indiscreet she
was being.
“On one occasion he even screamed at her, ‘You’re making a fool of me’.
The bust-ups over Cara, 23, were said to have come around the end of 2014
while Johnny was renting a North London mansion as he filmed scenes for his
new movie Alice Through The Looking Glass.
The source said: “He needed rest and sleep.
“But Cara and Amber seemed to have no respect for that.
“They were constantly partying hard going out and enjoying themselves.
“It didn’t help that Johnny couldn’t stand Cara.
“He found her obnoxious and disrespectful and would ask his staff to warn him
when she was going to be around.
“He didn’t like quite a few of Amber’s friends, but he took a particular
dislike to Cara.
“It was the friendship with her that really started to drive him insane.”
The Rum Diary actress arrived at a Los Angeles court days after they announced
their split, sporting a bruised eye.
She claimed her estranged husband had smashed an iPhone into her face last
Saturday.
Her allegations — which Johnny has denied — look set to turn their divorce
into the most poisonous Hollywood break-up yet.
The court also heard the attack came after another close friend of Amber,
photographer iO Tillett Wright, became “entangled” in their marriage
troubles.
Amber, who shared a three-year romance with artist Tasya van Ree before
meeting Depp, claimed the actor suddenly flipped last weekend after “he
began obsessing about something that was untrue”.
She claimed he insisted on the pair phoning iO to “prove his paranoid and
irrational accusations” and quickly began “screaming profanities and
insults”.
And iO, who doesn’t relate to a gender, was said to be still on the phone when
Johnny grabbed the handset.
She dialled 911 when she heard Amber yell: “Call the cops!”
Artist iO is now staying with Amber in the couple’s home.
A second source told how their closeness drove a further wedge between the
pair.

They said: “iO is another person who’s been very close to Amber and, as far as
Johnny was concerned, has been much too close to her for comfort.
“They hang out a lot and confide in each other and he seemed to resent the
fact iO played a big part in Amber’s life as the two of them were
struggling.
“That was another thing that riled him up quite a lot.”
In court last week, Amber described how, after hurling the iPhone, Johnny
smashed up their flat with a magnum of wine he swung “like a baseball bat”.
She added in her statement: “I live in fear Johnny will return to the Broadway
residence unannounced to terrorise me, physically and emotionally.”
She even claimed that on one occasion, in December last year, she thought
Johnny might kill her.
She said: “There also have been several prior incidents of domestic violence.
“In particular one severe incident when I truly feared that my life was in
danger.”
After the hearing, Johnny was told he must stay 100 yards from his estranged
wife until a second hearing to be held next month.
Meanwhile Amber, who last month issued a videoed apology with Johnny for
smuggling their pet dogs into Australia, was given the right to live in
their home.
But her claims were dismissed as lies by those close to Johnny, who insist
he only ever acted to defend himself against his “furious” and “irrational”
wife.
One source said: “Amber painted herself as the beaten-down wife who did
nothing wrong, but there is definitely another side to the story of their
marriage.
“They have had a series of blazing rows, but Amber has a furious temper
herself and she knew how to wind Johnny up and push him to the end of his
tether.
“She would play on the age gap between them, calling him fat, uncool and old.
“He vehemently denies ever hitting her on Saturday night.
“He said that he never hit her, that she had a vicious temper and that he has
only acted in self-defence.”
The source went on: “By the end of the marriage they truly hated each other
and would slag each other off all the time.
“There was no love there any more.
“But in spite of that, Johnny is devastated about all of this.”
Amber first came out as bisexual in 2010 when she took tattooed Tasya to a gay
event.
The pair ended their romance in 2012, months before Johnny announced his split
with ex Vanessa Paradis.
Hunk to lunk
THE stress of Johnny’s marriage breakdown appears to have taken its toll on
his chiselled good looks.
He has fluctuated between a slim build and model looks to a heavier figure and
a puffier face replacing his famous cheekbones, and back to a drawn and
gaunt look.
A source said: “Johnny’s marriage to Amber has been deteriorating for months,
and it’s easy to see that has taken its toll on his health, and his looks,
recently.
“The filming schedule for Alice Through The Looking Glass has also been quite
intense at times, and long days on set often lead to a lot of eating junk
food.”
Shadow on star’s career
THE allegations of domestic abuse against Depp came on the day his new movie
Alice Through the Looking Glass was released.
If they are proved, they could spell disaster for him and Disney, who produced
the £116million film.
A box office flop would leave his faltering career in tatters and cast doubts
over the release of Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No
Tales, due next year.
Johnny’s most recent blockbuster, gangster film Black Mass, bombed at the box
office.
