AN unflattering picture of Alan Rickman drawn by his Harry Potter co-star
Rupert Grint as a child ended up becoming one of the late actor’s most
treasured possessions.
An adorable clip where young Rupert, who played Ron Weasley, admits to being “scared”
of Alan’s reaction to the sketch – only for the star to secretly admits that
he loves it – went viral following the
Professor Snap actor’s death from cancer yesterday aged 69.
In the footage, Rupert explained: “One time in Potions lesson with Snape,
who’s really scary, I was just doodling with my quill in a book.
“I drew this rather unpretty picture of Alan Rickman and as I was drawing
it, Alan was standing right behind me and I was so scared.”
The clip then cuts to an older Rupert elaborating: “That picture wasn’t
nice. I think I exaggerated a few of his features.
“I’m not going into details. But he was really cool about it. I think he
even kept the picture.”
Alan then revealed: “I have made him sign it and I have it in my
possession. And I’m very fond of it.”

Harry Potter stars Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson also publicly mourned
Alan’s loss.
He said: “Alan Rickman is undoubtedly one of the greatest actors I will
ever work with. He is also, one of the loyalest and most supportive people
I’ve ever met in the film industry.
“He was so encouraging of me both on set and in the years post-Potter.
I’m pretty sure he came and saw everything I ever did on stage both in
London and New York. He didn’t have to do that.”
Emma said: “I’m very sad to hear about Alan today. I feel so lucky to
have worked and spent time with such a special man and actor. I’ll really
miss our conversations. RIP Alan. We love you.”

“As I walked through the canteen I thought of Alan queuing up for his
lunch with us mere mortals. I recalled the trailer in which he offered me

shared.
“Being back in those corridors made me remember a lot of things and I
will treasure those memories all my life. He inspired my career more than he
ever knew and I’ll miss him.”
