David De Gea girl: Manchester uglier than the back of a fridge

Chilling verdict of Man Utd goalie’s Spanish lover

DAVID De Gea’s Spanish girlfriend has slated the Manchester United keeper’s adopted city, branding it “uglier than the back of a fridge”.

Pop star Edurne Garcia, 29, flies to Manchester regularly to visit her fellow Spaniard.

But in an icy blast, she revealed the only thing she likes about the city is that she gets to see her boyfriend of four years.

Sexy Edurne – chosen to represent Spain in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest – was quizzed about her visits to see 24-year-old David on a Spanish TV show.

Cheeky host Pablo Motos asked her: “I’ve been told Manchester is uglier than the back of a fridge.”

And the cold-hearted singer agreed, saying: “It’s not very nice, that’s for sure.

“You have to hunt out specific places, the nicer places. But even then Spain is nicer.

“The reason I like it is because David’s there. With him being there, everything looks wonderful.”

Her comments are sure to infuriate half a million Mancunians – including hundreds of thousands of Red Devils fans.

The gaffe also prompted speculation Edurne will nag her boyfriend to quit Manchester when his contract is up at the end of next season.

He has been linked to a move to Real Madrid, although his agent insists he is happy at Old Trafford “at the moment”.

Edurne has said she hopes David will be there to see her perform for Spain at the Eurovision final on May 23.

She said after she was chosen: “David was happy for me when I told him, just like my family and friends. The people who love you share in your good news.

“I think he’s going to be tied up with league commitments but I hope he can be there at the final so we can live the experience together.”

A night at the Eurovision Song Contest? You’re definitely better off with Manchester, Dave.
