The 2 weeks of hell we’ve just had cos of Meningitis. Sami lucky due to amazing people

The former England, London Wasps, and Northampton Saints scrum half has shared
the photos with his roughly 250,000 Twitter followers.

The stark images show his son covered in red blotches, and one of the photos
shows Sami with a glum look on his face as he fights the disease.

But Dawson has also tweeted images of his son on the road to recovery, with
one showing him being hugged by his older brother Alex.

Dawson, 43, captioned the pictures with the message: “The two weeks of
hell we’ve just had cos of meningitis. Sami lucky due to amazing people
@GreattOrmondSt #vaccinate NOW.”

The
rugby star’s posts will help to raise awareness of the condition, and have
been tweeted after two-year-old Faye Burdett succumbed to the condition
after 11 days.

Faye’s parents Jenny and Neil are sharing the images to help stop other
families going through the same horrific ordeal.

Jenny and Neil are also calling for the meningitis B vaccine to be available
on the NHS to all children and not just babies.

A petition for the cause has had 280,000 signatures after shocking images of
Faye circulated on Facebook.

Since September 2015 a vaccine for meningitis B has been available on the NHS
for babies aged two months.

Tots have a second dose at four months and a booster at 12 months.

Parents who wish to have older children vaccinated have to pay privately,

Stocks of the vaccine are also running low because of a worldwide shortage.
