PHIL Collins taught the world that you can’t hurry love… nor a music legend
with a walking stick.
The 64-year-old was spotted enjoying a leisurely stroll in Miami earlier this
month – but if you weren’t a huge fan of the You Missed Again singer, you’d
never have realised you were looking at one of the richest men in rock.
Phil looked casual in a polo shirt, a pair of loose-fitting jeans and a brown
baseball cap, but it was his walking stick and orthopedic shoes that really
stood out.
A spokesperson for the drummer-slash-singer told The Sun that the icon that
he’s dealing with a broken bone in his foot.
They said: “He’s walking with a stick as he’s got a broken bone in his
foot. He broke it around the same time he had back surgery.”
During his career, Phil has sold over 100 million albums, and amassed a £175
million fortune.
In 2007, Phil dislocated a vertebra in his neck during the Genesis reunion
tour that caused nerve damage in his hands, leaving him unable to play the
drums.

Then, early last year he was in more pain when he woke up and couldn’t move
his right foot.
He told Rolling Stone magazine: “I had an MRI and my back and hips were
just shot.
“The doctor had to go in there, work on the sciatic nerve and take my
back apart and unscramble the mess.”
Thankfully the operation, which happened last October, was a success – and
now, against all odds, he should have no problem returning to the
stage – although his spokesperson said there are no plans to play live at
present.
Phil told the magazine: “After this surgery, though, the doctor said to
me that my vital signs were all there.
“He said to me, ‘If you want to play drums again, all you have to do is
practice’.”
Friday sees the release of the first two albums in Phil’s Take a Look at Me
Now reissue campaign when remastered deluxe versions 1981’s Face Value, and
