Hatton’s home burgled while he was away

BURGLARS broke into Ricky Hatton’s home and made off with valuables worth more
than £30,000 after he tweeted that he was away.

The raiders smashed their way into the boxer’s detached house through a
ground-floor window and stole two Rolex watches worth £21,000 and £6,000.

They also swiped credit cards and a roll of 500 euro notes.

Ricky, 36, has offered a reward to anyone who can help police trace those
behind the break-in in Hyde, Greater Manchester.

He bought the property after moving out of the family home he shared with his
partner Jennifer Dooley and their daughters Millie and Fearne last June.

The former double world champion had not fitted a burglar alarm before the
break-in, but one was being installed today.

He had posted on Twitter about going on a Sky football show and watching
Chelsea take on Manchester City at Stamford Bridge.

Ricky stayed in London over the weekend, only to find his house ransacked upon
his return.

One line of inquiry being followed by cops is that the burglars followed his
whereabouts on social media and knew he was away.

Forensic teams have been inside the home of the Hitman, who now works as a
boxing promoter, looking for fingerprints.

The burglars struck in the same weekend raiders tried to break into the home
of Manchester United star Angel Di Maria.

Angel, 26, and his family were whisked away by bodyguards after the terrifying
raid at their home.

United chiefs sent a security team rushing to his mansion after three armed
thugs struck as he had dinner with his wife and young daughter.

They used scaffold poles to smash through the patio doors but fled
empty-handed when an alarm went off.

The winger and his family were taken by cops from their exclusive property in
Cheshire to a hotel in Manchester following the failed burglary at around
8pm on Saturday.

He was shadowed by a security guard when he left the hotel in his Range Rover
earlier this week.

Boxer Anthony Crolla has vowed to return to action this year after a brutal
attack by burglars left his career in doubt.

Crolla, 28, suffered a fractured skull and broken ankle when he chased two
raiders who had forced their way into a neighbour’s house in Manchester.
