Davina renews wedding vows during shorts service in Las Vegas

TV host wore white hot pants & trainers while kids wrote vows for her & husband Matthew

LOVED-UP Davina McCall is celebrating in Las Vegas after renewing her wedding vows with husband Matthew Robertson.

The Million Pound Drop host, 47, wore traditional bridal white – but did things her own way, teaming her bouquet with hot pants and a T-shirt.

The happy couple have been married for 15 years and are proud parents to Holly,13, Tilly, 11, and Chester, 8.

And the ceremony was a real family affair thanks to the kids who wrote their new vows for them.

Davina revealed the news on Facebook alongside pictures of herself and Matthew.

She wrote: “Just renewed our vows… In Vegas!!! With the kids… And our mates!!! Such a blast! ¿#¿together¿ forever.

“The kids wrote our vows… It was Funny and more moving than I thought it would be….”

The fitness guru, whose workout DVDS are best sellers, also had her favourite Nike trainers on, while Matthew wore chino shorts and a flattering blue polo-shirt.

The ceremony comes 13 months after Davina raised over £2million completing her Sport Relief Challenge.

The big-hearted TV presenter spent months training before running, cycling and swimming the 500 miles from Edinburgh to London.

Afterwards, she confessed the ordeal had almost rocked their relationship.

She said: “We had a really difficult six months.

“Matthew’s dad was ill, I was doing the challenge and he’d hurt his shoulder.

“We weren’t arguing, but we had both been in a kind of tough place. Now we are here and we’ve been on holiday.

“Getting through stuff like that makes the next step better.

“If you never give it a chance to get through something difficult, you never get to that step where you think, ‘I know you, and you know me’.”

Davina fears the challenge would have ended their relationship had it come earlier in their marriage.

She said: “When you’re in your twenties and you have a tough six months, then that’s a break up. But when you’re married it’s nothing.

“You always have to think when you are in a relationship that if you have a tough six months then it’s nothing in the grand scheme of things.”

Successful Davina is best known for hosting Big Brother and also helms Million Pound Drop, Got To Dance and Long Lost Family. Yet she calls her marriage her biggest achievement.

She said: “For any man to be married to a famous woman, it doesn’t matter what you do or where you are in life, it’s a big ask.

“And also for my husband to have endured quite a few years of being called Mr McCall when his name is Mr Robertson – that is a kick in the nuts.”

Davina credits a friend of her grandmother’s with giving her the greatest relationship advice.

She said: “The best advice I’ve heard was from a lady in her 80s at my grandmother’s 90th birthday. I was telling her how wonderful my children are. She said, ‘Don’t forget your husband: you only borrow your children; your husband you’ll have for ever’.”
