Meanwhile, F1 bosses have agreed a radical shake-up to this year’s qualifying
sessions to help improve the show.
Team chiefs met with F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone and FIA President Jean Todt
in Geneva yesterday to rubber-stamp the proposal.
Although the official announcement will not be confirmed until March 3rd,
SunSport understands that Saturday’s will be different from this season
onwards with a new knock-out style system.
The elimination qualifying session is likely to be split into three sections
with the slowest car on the track knocked out every 90 seconds after some
limited track time to get up to speed.
