A LAG smokes a homemade bong filled with cannabis-style legal high Spice in
his prison cell – before slumping face down to the floor unable to move.
Grinning cons filmed the bearded inmate inhaling the mind-bending drug from a
Lucozade bottle in the video dubbed “Jihadi Joe Jail Spice Attack”.
The five-minute clip obtained by The Sun – filmed on a smuggled iPhone – is
the latest disturbing example of the scourge gripping our jails.
A seated prisoner holds the makeshift bong as a lag lights it, telling him: “Suck
it harder. Big lungs, big lungs.”
Wary of being nicked by guards, the stoned prisoner then asks: “Who’s
looking at the door?” before taking another long hit.
The addled inmate in green T-shirt, tracksuit bottoms and slippers leans back
on his chair in a paralytic state as laughter breaks out.
The lad taking the video is also out of his mind and babbles incoherently
before saying: “He’s gone to the realm.”
He then says: “I’m gonna have to assist him out of my cell in a minute
because he’s gonna be sick.
“And my magic carpet ain’t up for that.”
Coughing and spluttering, he tries to lift the bong-smoker’s hand but there is
no response. The crippled con then appears on the next footage lying face
down on the cell floor making a whining noise before being turned over in
the recovery position with his eyes still closed.
The con filming says: “Listen people we have about 20 bodies like this on
the wing. This is a regular occurrence.
“Do you feel like you’re in the promised land bro? Because you don’t look
too clever bro.”
The floored lag then tries to talk but can get no words out in the shocking
footage.
Walking out of the door to check the wing for officers, the lad with the phone
says: “There’s no one on the floor at the minute, pick him up and put
him on the bed quickly.”
The Prison Officers Association has warned that the new legal highs are the
most serious threat to the safety and security of jails.
