KATY Perry signs and seals her divorce from Russell Brand with a smiley face
after her signature.
Superior Court Judge Marc Marmaro signed the judgement yesterday after the
former couple submitted the documents containing details of their
settlement.
And Katy’s upbeat flourish indicates things are amicable.
Under the agreement, the Firework singer will get her maiden name Katheryn
Elizabeth Hudson back.
Despite their varying wealth, the couple did not sign a pre-nup before
marrying in October 2010.
However, comic Russell has waived his right to a portion of her vast fortune —
estimated in the region of £45million — that he is entitled to under
Californian law.
Their divorce will become legal on July 14, after the state-enforced duration
of six months separation after filing.
In court documents obtained by RadarOnline.com, the pair said they: “have
entered into a comprehensive written settlement.”
In their 14 months as man and wife they are believed to have bought four
properties in California, New York and London, worth a total of around
£10million, and also shared a cat called Krusty.
It was recently reported Russell — a former drug, booze and sex addict who
settled down after meeting Katy in 2008 — had started making moves on
Perry-lookalike Zooey Deschanel.
Katy has recently been linked to NFL star Tim Tebow.
At a Super Bowl pre-party in Indianapolis on Saturday night she dedicated racy
song Peacock — which includes the line “I wanna see your peacock”
— to the Denver Broncos quarterback.
