THE Sun has called on our millions of readers to help create the biggest-ever
picture gallery of Queen Elizabeth II.
We’ve teamed up with Google to urge people worldwide to upload their precious
photos of Her Majesty, taken anywhere on earth during her 60-year reign.
From today, you can share photos, videos and memories in a giant online
exhibition to celebrate her Diamond Jubilee.
Google Maps experts will link pictures to the exact location where they were
taken, to create an interactive gallery where people can pinpoint where The
Queen has been, who she has met and what she has done.
Users can call up Street View to see how the spot looks today. The project,
called Pinning The Queen’s History, is a partnership between the internet
giant and non-profit website Historypin.
Historypin’s Nick Stanhope said: “The Queen has made well over 250 visits
around the world — hundreds more across the UK.
“Millions of photos and videos have been captured. We’re very excited to help
people bring them together and create a royal time machine that lets us all
explore her remarkable reign.”
