ROMEO Beckham has bagged himself the starring role in Burberry’s Christmas
advertising campaign.
David and Victoria’s son first modelled for the brand in the spring-summer
2013 campaign when he danced about with supermodels Cara Delevingne and Edie
Campbell.
The 12-year-old now takes centre stage in the From London With Love ad, which
sees him delivering the gift of love to a young couple while wearing
trademark Burberry check trenchcoat, scarf and brolly.
In the background 50 dancers perform to the campaign’s exclusive soundtrack,
Ed Harcourt’s The Way That I Live.
Burberry chief creative officer Christopher Bailey said: “It continues to be
an utter joy working with Romeo – he has charm, style and energy. I’m
delighted that he’s the lead role in our festive campaign.”
Yet not everyone agrees. Marks
& Spencer model David Gandy recently took a swipe at Romeo’s success,
saying: “Who’s Romeo? Oh, that’s Beckham’s son. I think the Beckham
name will have helped for that one.”
Meow!
The Burberry seal of approval puts Romeo among the elite of models, alongside
Delevingne, Campbell and other check favourites like Kate Moss and Suki
Waterhouse.
And he isn’t the only Beckham boy to grace the modelling world.
Older brother Brooklyn, 15, made his debut earlier this year on the cover of
fashion magazine Man About Town.
Both boys are of course following in the footsteps of their dad, a veteran of
campaigns for Breitling, Armani and H&M. Check THAT modelling
career out…
