BRADLEY Walsh lost it on live TV when the rude-sounding name of a German
sportswoman had him in fits of hysterics.
The host of quiz show The Chase fought back tears of laughter after asking the
two contestants: “In what sport does Fanny Chmelar compete for Germany?”
He maintained his cool for several seconds after posing the question and
listing the three possible answers – A) Swimming, B) Show Jumping or C)
Skiing.
However, his smile soon turned into a pained grimace as he tried his best to
withhold the chuckles.
Both contestants followed suit, as did the audience who giggled while Bradley
was rendered unable to talk through his laughter.
Vying for the prize money, player Bryn opted for ‘Show Jumping’ but Bradley
couldn’t bring himself to reveal whether his answer was correct.
Explaining his choice, Bryn said: “Swimming doesn’t really have a ring for
me… Fanny Chmelar,” which instantly set Bradley off once again.
After composing himself enough to speak, the former Coronation Street star
said: “We’re going to make a rule now – never say her name again.
“I’d be straight down the court in the morning if that was my name. I’d have
that changed straight away.”
Eventually, the comedian managed to ask for the answer – which turned out to
be ‘Skiing’ – and order was finally restored.
