THE cobbles has a sexy new star who is set to ruffle a fair few feathers –
and give Tracy Barlow a run for her money with her flirty ways.
Actress Bhavna Limbachia makes an explosive arrival as new girl Rana on CORONATION
STREET.
Within days of landing a job at the Weatherfield health centre, Rana catches
the eye of all the men.
But it’s her pal Alya’s brother, Zeedan, who she sets her heart on.
The star, who played Alia Khan in BBC sitcom Citizen Khan, says: “Rana is
tenacious, fun and very flirtatious. She would flirt with a pen if she could.
“She is very aware of herself and knows how to manipulate the situation to how
she wants.
“She is having fun flirting but she makes it very obvious.”

But Bhavna insists she isn’t anything like her character, saying: “I am
actually quite dorkish. I don’t see myself as sexy at all.
“I definitely couldn’t be as flirty as Rana. I am not as brave as her.”
Having grown up watching the soap, Bhavna is proud to now be a part of it. But
she admits it took a while for the news to sink in.
She says: “I had gone to the audition in my lunch break while I was working on
Citizen Khan.
“The first audition went well and then my second involved a screen test. I
grabbed Qasim, who plays Zeedan, and nearly ripped his T-shirt and then I
head-butted him in the second take. When my agent rang to say I’d got it I
thought, ‘Oh my God, I am going to be on Corrie’ and I screamed.”
