FED UP of your partner’s snoring? This company’s ingenious product may be the
solution.
Nora is a smart device that slots under your pillow, inflating it when a
built-in microphone hears you snoring.
Snoring is normally caused by our airways collapsing as our throat muscles
relax. Air is forced through these narrow airways when we breathe, leading
to the snoring vibrations.
With Nora, the slow movements of the pillow as it inflates and deflates
stimulate your throat muscles and open up your airways, stopping the
snoring.
The clever product is non-invasive: unlike other solutions, which require you
to wear something or sleep a certain way, Nora can be used with any pillow
and in any position.
The $299 (£200) gadget goes on sale this summer. It comes with the inflator
and a pebble for your bedside table, which contains the microphone.
It also contains the tech required to sync to your phone, giving you stats on
your sleep habits.
The product was developed by San Francisco-based Smart Nora Inc., who raised
over $832,000 (£563,000) when they put the product on Kickstarter last year.
