Former footie hardman Ruddock faces bailiffs
FOOTIE hardman Neil “Razor” Ruddock faced bankruptcy – after failing to pay a kennel bill.
He was in the dog house with bailiffs after refusing to settle the £3,000 debt.
A heated exchange at the home of the Celebrity Big Brother star was caught on camera for the second series of the Channel 5 reality show CAN’T PAY? WE’LL TAKE IT AWAY.
And our exclusive pictures from tonight’s episode show Razor and his wife’s reactions when debt collectors turned up at his door.
High Court enforcement officer Paul Bohill headed to Razor’s home in Kent earlier this year to present a High Court writ for the debt to a local
kennel owner.
But Razor’s missus Leah Newman was less than pleased to see him.
The one-time glamour model refused to talk to Paul, hurled abuse at him and threw water over him.
But Paul stayed put and eventually managed to talk to Razor — who earned more than £10,000 a week when he played for Liverpool.
The defender, who also played for West Ham, agreed to pay back £1,000 of the bill within a few days.
But the deadline came and went. And Razor — who racked up the debt after leaving his pet dog in the kennels and then paid with a cheque that bounced — failed to settle up.
The next day, Razor told the bailiff he had arranged to pay the kennel owner directly.
But Paul discovered they had made no such agreement and had not even spoken.
After weeks of trying to get Razor to cough up, he was forced to deliver a draft bankruptcy petition to the star.
It is not the first time Razor has had money issues.
In 2009 he blamed a messy divorce for his financial woes after he was told his home could be repossessed.
Mind you, things could be looking up for Razor. He was on social media this week tweeting all about his accurate score predictions.
He even displayed ä picture of a betting slip for a footie accumulator that apparently landed £23,000 for a £5 outlay.
