Neil: I am still behaving ladly

MEN Behaving Badly star Neil Morrissey last night admitted he will never wed
again.

Neil, 49, who divorced his wife Amanda in 1991, insists he won’t tie the knot
with long-term girlfriend, Emma Killick, He said: “We’ve been together a
long time. I’m not really religious and I don’t think that institution is
for us. We couldn’t be happier. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”

Neil, whose ex-loves include Amanda Holden and Rachel Weisz, became a TV
legend playing lager-swilling Tony Smart in 1990s BBC sitcom Men Behaving
Badly.

He told TV Biz he is now well on the way to paying back all the £1million he
owed after his hotel and pub business crashed.

Neil has repaid half so far — thanks to a steady stream of work on TV and the
stage.

He said: “It will be fantastic when I don’t have the burden of debt around my
neck.”

The star is definitely not short of offers of work. He has just finished
filming an episode of detective drama Inspector George Gently, which will go
out on BBC in September.

He has also landed a role in the movie version of the stage show Run For Your
Wife, alongside Denise Van Outen and Danny Dyer.

Neil said: “It will be a lot of laughs and is the kind of thing you just can’t
turn down.

“I am really looking forward to it and there is some great British talent in
it.”

In autumn Neil will take to the stage as Fagin in a national tour of West End
musical, Oliver!

He also never wants to forget his roots. He grew up in a children’s home and
is fronting a campaign by toothpaste giant Colgate called Keeping Britain
Smiling. If they get a million “smiles” on their Facebook page, Colgate will
donate £100,000 to the Barnado’s children’s charity.

Neil said: “What Barnado’s does is excellent and it’s nice to be able to be
part of this campaign and help them.

“It’s a charity very close to my heart. Every day you live through
memories of your childhood.”

He added: “I feel like I have always been on the central track. Circumstances
like my debts have hit me and I have dealt with them.

“There is always going to be a fresh set of problems around the corner.

“I will deal with everything as and when it happens. At the moment, I am in a
good place. I have got plenty of work. I am a happy bunny.”
