Daniel Hammond


Daniel Hammond is a reporter at The Sun newspaper with a strong track record of breaking exclusives. He is a London-based journalist who focuses on crime but travels to report on stories around the world. So far this year Daniel revealed the UK’s first death from nitrous oxide and gave a dispatch from shores of France, where he tracked down a people smuggling gang and witnessed a battle between police and migrants before they crossed the Channel in a small boat. Daniel told the world about the armed robbery of Michael Macintyre, Gary Glitter receiving the Covid jab before the public, Tom Cruise’s meltdown on the set of Mission Impossible and has carried out successful undercover investigations. During his time leading The Sun’s digital nighttime operation he broke the news of the Ukraine war and oversaw the reporting of Queen Elizabeth II’s death. Before joining The Sun in 2019 Daniel’s byline appeared across the national media and he has significant experience in court reporting.
