Jay Blakeway

Jay Blakeway has been a casual online sports reporter for since February 2023. He mostly covers with a particular focus on sides such as , , , , and more, as well as the . As part of the digital sport desk, he works closely with other colleagues - in online and print - to deliver high-quality articles, features, explainers and live blogs. Jay has helped cover some of the biggest stories in Scottish football in recent times, including in the summer of 2023 and transfer deadline day in August 2024.   He also works as a part-time producer on and as a freelance production junior for . Away from football, Jay was previously a reporter and newsreader on , delivering hourly bulletins as well as online video material. He still occasionally kept up his passion for the sport there, interviewing Old Firm legends and for the station's . He got his break in sports media as a volunteer reporter for , where he was named Journalist of the Year 2023 for his coverage of the grassroots game.   Jay holds a First Class BA (Hons) degree in from , achieving the 'Gold Standard' diploma and the 2024 Darren Joliny Prize for Best Journalism Student. His time with the student radio station, , also saw him as he, as head of programming and later station manager, helped it return to broadcasting following the Coronavirus pandemic.   He's also appeared on the alongside established broadcaster .
