Rob Cross’ 170 checkout costs William Hill punter over £12,000 at the Premier League Darts
A CLUTCH finish from Rob Cross cost Gerwyn Price dearly during their clash at the Premier League Darts on Thursday.
But one unlucky punter paid an even bigger price with the world number four's unbelievable 170 check out costing him a colossal £12,345!
Premier League Darts continued at the Utilita Arena this week with a roaring Cardiff crowd hoping to see Price prevail.
And this William Hill customer must have been equally raucous when cheering on his acca.
The punter stuck a fiver on a correct score fourfold in the matches between Chis Dobey and Stephen Bunting, Luke Humphries vs Michael van Gerwen, Luke Littler vs Nathan Aspinall and Gerwyn Price vs Rob Cross.
The £5 was placed at odds of 2,469/1, which means he stood to win £12,345!
The bet started off in perfect fashion with slight underdog Toby beating fan-favourite Bunting 6-2 at odds of 9/1.

Things got even better when Dutchman Van Gerwen and teenage sensation Littler did the business 6-4 and 6-3 against Humphries and Aspinall respectively.
Three down, one to go.
With the score level at 5-5, Cross had the darts but failed to find a treble with any of his first six.
A 140 on Gerwyn Price's second visit got the crowd roaring with a 170 out to win the match 6-5, and deliver for our hopeful punter.
Price missed his one opportunity at double 18, but he was still in the driving seat with Cross requiring 170 for the match.
But then… Treble 20, treble 20, bull!
2018 world champion Cross who reeled in the Big Fish – a 170 checkout – to clinch victory and leave both the home crowd and the William Hill punter reeling.
"There’s disbelief in the crowd, and there’s disbelief in the media room," said BBC reporter Troy Luen.
"Rob Cross looked nowhere in that final leg until those last three, brilliant darts. As soon as the first treble 20 went in, it looked inevitable. Outstanding from Cross to weather the storm."
