FACEBOOK SMALL BUSINESS COMPETITION RULES:
Open to United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland residents aged 18 or over only, except employees of the Promoter, News Corp UK & Ireland Limited, and their associated, affiliated or subsidiary companies, their families, agents or any other person(s) connected with the competition, including third party promotional partners.
Competition closes at 11.59PM on February 3, 2017 (the Closing Date). Entries received after the Closing Date will not be counted. One entry per person. Bulk, automatically generated or third party entries are void.
To enter you must submit before the Closing Date 500 words explaining what your business is, how it is funded, when it started and what stage it’s at, including a paragraph telling us a little bit about yourself and what winning would mean to you, along with your name, age, a daytime telephone contact number and your Facebook page and Instagram handle if you have one. You as the entrant must own at least 50% of the business that is the subject of your entry and be able to prove this to the reasonable satisfaction of the Promoter (in the event of dispute this will be as reasonably deemed by the Promoter). To enter this competition your company must be registered on Companies House UK and not insolvent or going through any insolvency or similar process. By entering this competition you are confirming that you comply with all UK law, including registration and tax requirements.

Entries must be the original work of the author and not previously published. Entries which are or appear to be plagiarised will be disqualified. Entries (including but not limited to text and photographs) for this competition must not contain any content that is defamatory, libellous, racist, homophobic, derogatory, pornographic, obscene, sexist, illegal, and/or otherwise inappropriate. Entrants must not do anything illegal and/or dangerous and/or that would put themselves or others at any risk. You must get the prior consent of anyone who features in your entry.
There will be three winners. One prize per winner. (For the avoidance of doubt, the winner and the recipient of the prize will be the person making the entry and not their business)
The winners will be the entrants whose entries, in the opinion of the judges, are most suitable for the prize. There will be at least 1 independent judge on the judging panel.
The prize is: i) return economy flights from mainland UK (if winner lives in UK or from ROI if the winner lives in ROI and a sufficient distance from Dublin and it is practicable to arrange flights (as deemed by Promoter) and all airport transfers ii) a half-day workshop hosted by the
Small Business Team at Facebook’s Dublin HQ (the Sponsor) iii) three months’ ongoing account support from a dedicated account manager from Facebook’s small business team iv) £250 advertising credit redeemable at Facebook.com. The winner and Sponsor will need to agree suitable times for redemption of the prize. If the winner and the Sponsor cannot agree terms within a reasonable period of time (as deemed by Sponsor), the Sponsor reserves the right to select another winner. Also included in the prize is a photo-shoot with Fabulous Magazine (the Promoter) in an upcoming print issue, subject to agreeing a suitable time and location with the Promoter. The prize is subject to the following terms:
The winners will be notified by email or using the other contact details provided by the entrants within six weeks of the Closing Date. Winners need to be available to travel to Dublin for a half-day business workshop. All reasonable endeavours will be made to contact shortlisted entrants during the specified time. If an entrant cannot be contacted or is not available, the Promoter reserves the right to re-draw another entrant for the shortlist. The workshop will take place within six months of the winners being selected and winners will be given no less than 21 days’ notice of the departure date. The Promoter will cover return economy flights from the winner’s chosen airport within mainland UK (or if applicable ROI – as deemed by Promoter) plus all airport transfers. The Promoter will provide reasonable and pre-agreed on-the-ground travel costs and reasonable sustenance. Unless expressly specified otherwise in these terms and conditions, the sponsors accept no responsibility for any costs associated with the prize and not specifically included in the prize, such as accommodation and spending money. The Promoter will pay the winner’s reasonable pre-agreed travel expenses for attending the photo-shoot provided that the winner supplies satisfactory evidence of those expenses, e.g VAT receipt. Winners will not receive any financial aid beyond the advertising credits or any advice about aspects of the business other than its presence on Facebook and Instagram. It is the winners’ responsibility to ensure they have a valid passport, travel insurance and any necessary vaccinations. Travel insurance is strongly recommended. Such travel documentation is at the sole expense of the winner. Failure to be granted a visa and or have the necessary travel documentation will result in the winner forfeiting his/her prize. The sponsors accept no responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered by the winner as a result of entering the competition or accepting the prize.
The prize is non-transferable and there are no cash alternatives to the prize in whole or in part.
The winner will be required to participate in reasonable publicity relating to this competition.
The promoter of this competition is News Group Newspapers Ltd (publishers of The Sun) (the Promoter).

These terms and conditions apply to all competitions (unless and to the extent that) the competition states otherwise.
The winner is responsible for ensuring they are able to accept the prize as set out and in accordance with these terms and conditions, in the event they are unable to do so then the Promoter reserves the right to redraw the prize.
Entrants should be aware that they may be subject to data charges depending on their own individual arrangements for Internet access if entry is online or by email.
An eligible entrant must be an individual, must enter on their own behalf, and must submit an entry in the form requested by the Promoter under this promotion including their name, address and e-mail address.
By entering, all eligible entrants agree to abide by each and all these terms and conditions. Misrepresentative or fraudulent entries will invalidate an entry. Where a competition involves a voting process: offering or receiving any incentive for voting is not permitted and will invalidate the vote, and may disqualify the recipient of the vote. The Promoter reserves the right, with or without cause, to exclude entrants and withhold prizes for violating any of these terms and conditions. The Promoter reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions. Any amendments will be published on the Promoter’s website (the Website).
The Promoter reserves the right to publish entries (including parts of entries) other than the winning entry and publication does not necessarily mean the entrant has won a prize.
Entrants will retain copyright in their submitted entries, however, by entering, all entrants licence the Promoter a worldwide royalty-free perpetual licence to edit, publish and use each entry in any and all media (including print and online) for publicity and news purposes. The Promoter reserves the right to publish entries (including parts of entries) although publication does not necessarily mean the entrant has won a prize.
There is no cash or other alternative to the prize stated and the prize is not transferable and no part or parts of the prize may be substituted for other benefits, items or additions.
Winners may be required to submit valid identification before receiving their prize.
The Promoter's decision is final and binding on the entrants. No correspondence will be entered into.
The Promoter will not be liable for technical, hardware, or software failures of any kind or lost or unavailable network connections that may limit or prohibit an eligible entrant's ability to participate in the competition. Other than death or personal injury arising from the acts or omissions of the Promoter or its employees, the Promoter will not be liable for any loss or damage arising out of the winner’s (or their guest’s) enjoyment of the prize.
By entering, any subsequent prize winners agree to allow the free use of their names, photographs and general locations for publicity and news purposes during this and future promotions by the Promoter or any associated or subsidiary company of News Corp UK & Ireland Limited.
Uses of personal data received by the Promoter in the course of the promotion are subject to the privacy policy found on the Website. Winners' names may be published on the Website.
Completion and submission of a registration slip or e-mail will be deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions.
The Promoter reserves the right at any time to cancel, modify or supersede the competition (including altering prizes) if, in our sole discretion, a competition is not capable of being conducted as specified. The Promoter reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal value in the event that circumstances beyond their control make this unavoidable.
