MIDLIFE MISERY

Menopause aches and pains are have started to rule my life

DEAR DEIDRE: MENOPAUSE symptoms have begun to rule my life and I don’t know how much more I can take.

I’m 50 and for the past few months I have been in complete agony with muscle and joint pains.

When the menopause first started two years ago, I barely felt any different – and often wondered how I’d got off so lightly.

But now I feel like I’m making up for lost time.

My body constantly aches all over, and my bones have become completely stiff.

I used to be so active and did everything I could to look after my health, But now I often struggle to get out of bed and find the simplest of tasks too much.

The symptoms are overwhelming and not knowing when they’ll end is torturous. I feel hopeless.

DEIDRE SAYS: I’m sorry to hear your symptoms are affecting your quality of life.

Many women experience debilitating joint and muscle pain and stiffness during menopause, due to their declining hormone levels.
