I’m sure my lack of hair is reason woman I met at gym hasn’t called me
DEAR DEIDRE: WHILE working out at my local gym last week I met a great woman – but I’m sure my lack of hair has put her off.
I’ve seen her a few times and eventually plucked up the courage to talk to her.
We chatted for ages and I ended up giving her my number, but she hasn’t called me.
Now I’m convinced my lack of hair is the reason.
It is thinning so much I worry I am going to end up bald. It is really affecting my confidence.
I am a 25-year-old single guy. I find it hugely embarrassing.
I try to avoid mirrors as much as I can but at times it is all I can think about.
I know that for most men some form of hair loss is inevitable but I’m disappointed I am losing mine so young.
I have tried to convince myself it is not a big deal, but nothing works.
DEIDRE SAYS: Don’t give up. She was probably just focusing on working out and not looking for a date with anyone, with or without hair.
Women are attracted to men who offer warmth and understanding and show interest in them.
Male pattern baldness runs in families. My support pack Losing Your Hair explains more.
You can’t prevent it happening but, as this sounds like it’s making you depressed, see your GP.
Your barber can suggest a stylish cut. Very short is usually best so the hair loss isn’t really noticeable.
