DEAR DEIDRE: NEXT year, my boyfriend is going on a lads-only holiday and I am already worrying about it.

Things are really good between us, yet I am scared he will cheat.

I am 22, he is 24, and we have been dating for six months.

This holiday was booked before we got together and he has already paid for his flights and accommodation.

I don’t think he has been unfaithful to me, but I am not sure I would be able to totally trust him.

Although I have had no reason to doubt him before, I know he used to play the field a bit when he was younger.

I haven’t said anything to him and, while that I have never seen him totally drunk, I know that these kinds of holidays seem to consist of all-day drinking and unprotected sex.

I haven’t told him how I feel. I really want to trust him. Am I just being paranoid?

DEIDRE SAYS: Although you can’t stop him from going, have a conversation about how worried you are and tell him you need reassurance.

If he cares about you, he should care about your feelings, too.

Lads’ holidays are known for bad behaviour but, if you trust him, you should be able to cope with him being away.

Make sure you plan some fun things to do with your mates while he is gone.

My support pack, Dealing With Jealousy, will help you cope, too.
