I’ve felt so lonely since my divorce — I just want my life to be back to how it used to be
DEAR DEIDRE: I HAVE been so lonely since my divorce I often walk into my flat and just want to walk out and back to how my life used to be – though, in fact, I was alone then.
My wife and I were so incompatible, the only difference was that there was someone else in the house.
I'm struggling to cope and keep my spirits up since divorcing my ex-wifeI am 56. I have two sons and a daughter. They text me but I’d prefer it if they picked up the phone or visited.
I go to a local club a couple of nights a week but I cannot help feeling everything in my life has gone. I had a house and a life of things to do. Now I am alone in a tiny flat.
I find it really hard to cope and keep my spirits up.
DEIDRE SAYS: It is tough to find yourself alone after years of being in a couple with a family life. Maybe your wife arranged most of your social life and activities?
People are not mind- readers. Reach out and visit your kids rather than waiting on them to make a move.
