After my husband died six months ago, I received an anonymous letter claiming my husband cheated on me for seven years
DEAR DEIDRE: MY husband died suddenly six months ago and I’m struggling to cope after a letter arrived saying said that he had cheated on me for seven years.
He died aged just 59. We had a very happy marriage and my son and I are devastated. I am 55 and my son is 28.
The letter said he’d been seeing a woman at work and that he would have left me but she died in a car accident three years ago.
I was shocked to the core but I found out that this woman did indeed work for the same firm as him and was killed. I’ve spoken to friends who work there too and they just don’t believe it.
I don’t believe it myself but worry who hates me so much to cause me so much pain.
DEIDRE SAYS: Probably someone jealous of the happy life you and your husband shared. Sadly, there are unhappy people out there.
Take it to the police to show that you are not intimidated and spread word around among friends and your husband’s former colleagues. Then put it out of your mind. My e-leaflet Help For Bereavement is on its way.
