MEGHAN Markle told entrepreneurs in Cape Town that she's determined to "fulfil her heart's desires"  and won't allow her own needs to "fade away" despite being a member of the Royal Family.

The Duchess of Sussex, 38, met several women who have set up their own fashion, technology and conservation businesses earlier this week at a "Ladies Who Launch" event.

Founder of skills training company Simodisa Matsi Modise told that she had spoken to the Duchess about how she manages work and family life.

The entrepreneur said: "She talked about being a mother and having duties as a Duchess and fulfilling what her heart desires - and that it can't just fade away now that you're a Duchess.

"That you have to be true to who you are."

Matsi admitted that she felt "awestruck" by Meghan, who urged the women to keep "pushing and going forward" in their respective industries to pave the way for others.

Naadiya Moosajee - who founded Women in Engineering - added: "We acknowledged the importance of not just education for girls but being role models for boys - that we are women who are influential and who boys can look up to as well."

The "Ladies Who Launch" event was Meghan's first solo engagement on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's Africa tour.

Speaking with other working mums and entrepreneurs at the Woodstock Exchange, Meghan opened up about what it's like to take Archie with them.

She said: "We're only five months in right now.

"Being a working mum and travelling as well with a baby, my goodness it's a lot, but it's all so exciting.

"There are days when it’s a lot to juggle but then you meet someone, have an impact on them and it’s so rewarding.”
