THE Queen’s personal assistant has revealed the monarch has an unusual talent – mimicking accents.
The Queen’s senior dresser, Angela Kelly, has worked for the royal household for more than 25 years, and has established a “uniquely close working relationship with The Queen”.
Angela, 51, gave a rare insight into her friendship with the 93-year-old, revealing the monarch has a talent for copying accents.
Liverpudlian Angela revealed the great-grandmother can perfectly copy a Scouse accent, as well as a host of others.
She made the revelation in rare interview in 2007, where she also praised the monarch’s wit.
Angela said: “We have a lot of fun together.
“The Queen has a wicked sense of humour and is a great mimic.
"She can do all accents — including mine."
Angela, LVO, is publishing a book reflecting on her nearly three decades of service, featuring never-before-seen photos of the Queen.
Due for release in October, it's called ‘’, and Angela received permission from the monarch herself to publish it.
The unprecedented memoir is described online as: “Whether it’s preparing for a formal occasion or brightening Her Majesty’s day with a playful joke, Angela’s priority is to serve and support.
“Sharing never-before-seen photographs – many from Angela’s own private collection – and charming anecdotes of their time spent together, this revealing book provides memorable insights into what it’s like to work closely with The Queen, to curate her wardrobe and to discover a true and lasting connection along the way.”
Angela's official title is Her Majesty’s Personal Advisor, Curator, Wardrobe and In-house Designer – the only person to ever hold the position.
She is now solely responsible for the Queen's public outfits, and was the mastermind behind the lemon yellow ensemble which she wore to Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding.
