Meghan Markle scheduled the royal tour around baby Archie’s feeding times
ROYAL tours are typically finely-tuned operations with schedules and engagements drawn up in advance.
Meghan Markle has revealed that timing for her 10-day Africa tour had to be flexible as all of the appearances were organised around baby Archie’s feeding times.
The Duchess of Sussex, 38, spoke to reporters on the penultimate day of their tour of southern Africa yesterday and said the tour has been a “full plate”.
The mum-of-one, who gave birth to Archie in May, thanked royal aides for being “really kind to me” when it came to planning engagements around her baby’s schedule.
Archie delighted fans when he was brought along to visit Archbishop Desmond Tutu on day three of the tour, and he stole the show in front of camera.
The seventh-in-line to the throne - who appeared to have tell-tale signs of his dad's red hair - posed with the man they call “The Arch” with proud mum and dad.
Meghan and Prince Harry arrived in Cape Town on Monday September 23, and then Harry went alone to Botswana, Angola and Malawi, before the family was reunited in Johannesburg yesterday.
Ahead of seeing her husband after his solo engagements, Meghan said she missed him “so much”.
Meghan said: “It’s my first time being in this country......and Harry has continued on in a couple [of] other countries - we are reuniting today, which I can’t wait for, I miss him so much!
“But I think for us it has been a really special trip, because you get to see when you’re focusing on the causes that are really important to us, you can see that the impact is good, and it feels meaningful.”
Speaking of doing a tour as a family-of-three, Meghan said: “Oh my goodness, well, we’re doing well. I think the schedule - they have been very kind to me, because everything is based around Archie’s feed times.
“So it’s a full plate, but we’re making it work. It’s worth it.”
Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor is the youngest baby in the British royal family to be taken on a royal tour.
Thankfully the couple have had the help of a nanny, who has travelled with them for the trip.
