Mum transforms her son’s lifeless bedroom into a Toy Story dreamland for less than £100
A CREATIVE mum has revealed how she transformed her four-year-old son’s drab bedroom into a Toy Story haven for just £100.
Kerri Rundle, 27, from Truro, Cornwall was keen to makeover her Pixar mad son Coby’s room But was keen to keep the cost down.
She modelled the design on the famous cloud-print walls that protagonist Andy has in his bedroom in the Disney blockbuster.
Eager not to splash out on pricey wallpapers, Kerri got to work creating the print herself.
She told : “At first I painted the walls all in baby blue, I then hand-painted the Toy Story logo onto the wall with tester pots of paint from B&Q and then found stickers online but I realised it would work out very expensive.”
Kerri found free downloadable stencils online and cut them out using a Stanley knife to make the perfect cloud shape.
Then, taping the stencil to the wall, she sponge painted the shape on.
She purchased glossy film stills from Amazon at £2 a pop before framing them in frames that cost just £6 for four.
To add the finishing touches to the room she bought Toy Story sheets from ASDA for just £13 as well as a toy box £20, lamp £24, and alien cushion £7, were from Dunelm.
She completed the room with a £5 fleece throw and cushion costing the same price from Facebook marketplace.
She added: “I still am saving to put wood-effect lino in and for a Toy Story rug that I have seen on Amazon!”
