A COUPLE have been labelled "crazy" by Location, Location, Location viewers after spending £317,000 on a tiny two-bed flat in Weybridge and covering it in mirrors to stop it looking so cramped.

Appearing on the most recent episode of the property show, first-time buyers Louise and Johnny admitted that they wanted to buy a flat just like the one they were already renting in Surrey.

However, the couple ran into trouble as hosts Kirstie Allshopp and Phil Spencer warned them that their £335k budget wouldn't stretch far enough to get them a sizeable mid-century flat which was also in good condition.

Effectively wanting to buy a copy of the flat they were already living in, ample storage space and trendy parquet flooring were top on the couple's list of priorities.

As they set out on the search, Kirstie said: "What you're looking for is very realistic architecturally in terms of what's available in your area but not in your range."

Fortunately, the first property they were shown came in under budget at £325k and was the 1960s architectural style they favoured.

Although the small two-bedroom flat featured a tiny kitchen, the buyers were blown away by some of the finer details - including original parquet flooring, loft space and built-in storage units.

Admitting that the flat was a little on the small side, Johnny joked: "There's enough room to swing a cat so that's all good."

And despite the second property they visited being bigger and in a better location, the couple said it lacked the "charm" of the first home while the third flat was on the market for a staggering £350,000.

However, viewers were quick to brand the couple "crazy" after they put a £317,000 on the first flat.

Taking to Twitter, one joked: "£325k for a small, ugly 1960s style flat in Weybridge?

"Jeez remind me never to move anywhere even remotely dahn sarf."

Another added: "Mad how they're talking about value for money at £350k in a tiny flat - moneys crazy."

"What are you thinking?" one outraged user wrote. "I'm thinking council flat."

Meanwhile, another branded the flat "ghastly".

"£317k for a flat just to stay within London, f**king ridiculous," another raged.

Other viewers urged the couple to "move up North and enjoy a proper home with expendable cash."

In an attempt to maximise their limited space, the couple followed Kirstie's advice by filling the flat with mirrors to create the illusion of bigger and lighter rooms.

Describing how they did this in the bathroom, their nursery and their living room, Louise said: "Kirstie suggested putting two mirrors opposite each other to make it look bigger, so we installed them in and it creates more light and more space."
