MEGHAN Markle has shown her “nurturing and protective” side towards Prince Harry in a sweet clip from the royal tour.
The Duchess of Sussex, 38, was filmed tenderly caressing Harry’s arm as he held their five-month-old son Archie, in a new ITV documentary on the couple airing on Sunday.
Body language expert Judi James told Fabulous Digital: “Meghan looks every inch the caring, super-protective mother here as she strokes baby Archie on the head tenderly before leaning forward to plant a careful kiss.
“A small baby's head always looks vulnerable which would account for this reassurance ritual, but it's not just Archie she's signalling nurturing, protective emotions for here.
“As Harry snuggles the baby against his chest his wife's touches and pats seem aimed at him too. Harry might not seem as vulnerable as his small son but Meghan is clearly signalling a nurturing approach to both her boys here. “
The clip formed part of a trailer for the documentary Harry and Meghan: An African Journey, which will air at 9pm on Sunday.
It will feature moments from their 10-day visit to southern Africa, where the couple had numerous engagements in South Africa, with Harry also travelling to Malawi, Angola and Botswana.
Royal fans previously gushed over the adorable moment, particularly when Meghan kissed her son.
Documentary host Tom Brady said the programme will reveal the “happiness” alongside the “pressure and pain” of being a royal.
Mr Bradby said: “The story of their time in Africa was of passion for their work, pride and happiness, but also a world a pressure and pain behind the brave faces.”

It comes after a royal expert claimed Meghan and Harry are desperate for Archie to have a “normal” upbringing away from the spotlight.
Angela Mollard said on the podcast Royals that the duke and duchess ideally want to give him a childhood similar to that of Zara Tindall, and daughters Mia and Lena.
Meghan was also said to have shown off protective body language when she first presented Archie to the world back in May.
Judi said at the time: “Meghan's self comfort touches suggested some slight inhibitions but -as she did during their engagement - she was the one leading the interview while placing a protective arm around her two boys."
As the pair left St George's Hall in Windsor, Meghan's back-rubs hinted that she was 'rewarding' Harry for already being a great dad.
"The back-rub is a loving leadership trait of guiding and reassuring that Meghan has used before in their relationship, this time almost using it as a reward signal.
"It was more exaggerated than usual and involved a rub with the hand but also the thumb, suggesting she sees herself as a protective proud presence for both her 'guys' now."
