Mother-of-the bride wears tight, lacy white dress to daughter’s wedding and shamers fume she’s ‘tacky and classless’
WEARING white to a wedding is the ultimate faux-pas, but wearing white lace to a wedding is one step too far.
And members of Facebook's That's It I'm Wedding Shaming group were horrified when they came across a wedding guest who decided to rock up in a tight, white lacy gown - especially considering it was the bride's mum.
Sharing an image of the mum, the user posting the image wrote: "Shaming the s*** out of the mother of the bride.
"I went to a family wedding over the weekend and the bride was gorgeous, it was such a pretty wedding.
"[But] her mum wore a white, lace dress."
The user shared an image of the bride with her mum and another unknown wedding guest and the mum can be seen in a white lace midi dress with long, lacy sleeves.
And other users were utterly horrified, with one commenting: "Call me old fashioned but I'd be p***** off if anyone besides me wore white to my wedding."
While another wrote: "I don't know why mothers are like this.
"I have four kids, two of which are girls. I would NEVER do anything to ruin their day. This is just sad to me."
Others said the dress looked "cheap" while one said it "completely takes your eyes away from the bride".
Another called it "classless" while one admitted if they were the bride they would "make her get changed".
"I have seen mothers wear white to their daughter's wedding... 90 per cent of the time it is a white skirt suit or other non-bridal looking gown, just at the mother of the groom's dress matches the colour scheme in a non-bridal party cut.
"If you wear a lacy white gown when your daughter is wearing a lacy white gown as her wedding dress - I shame you."
