Beatrice breaks royal tradition as she brings Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi to Christmas at Sandringham before they marry
PRINCESS Beatrice broke royal tradition as she arrived at church in Sandringham accompanied by her fiancé Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.
The Princess of York walked alongside her husband-to-be as they joined other members of the royal family for the annual Christmas Day church service at St Mary Magdalene Church.
It is thought that the property tycoon, who is expected to marry Beatrice in June, is joining the family for their Christmas celebrations.
In doing so the couple are breaking the tradition that blocked Kate Middleton from enjoying royal family festivities in 2010.
The Sandringham celebrations are a privilege usually reserved for members of the royal family.
The Duchess of Cambridge was forced to wait until she was married before being allowed to sit at the royal dining table.
Mike Tindall was also prevented from joining until he wed Princess Anne's daughter, Zara.
However, the tradition was overturned for Meghan Markle just two years ago when she joined the Queen’s Christmas celebrations five months before she and Harry tied the knot.
This is likely to have paved way for other members of the royal family, including Princess Beatrice.
The Princess of York's father Prince Andrew also joined the royal family at church this morning.
The Duke of York was supported by his older brother Prince Charles as he made his first public appearance since his disastrous BBC interview.
Andrew said he did not regret having been a friend of Epstein, who killed himself in jail aged 66 while awaiting trial for sex trafficking.
The Duke was also ridiculed over his repeated denials of any sexual relationship with then 17-year-old Virginia Roberts.
The Duke entered the church just after 9am today before the public were let in ahead of the 11am service which he did not attend.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will not attend this year's church service as they are in Canada taking a break from royal duties with their son Archie.
However Prince George and Princess Charlotte are set to attend the annual Christmas church gathering for the first time.
