Well if you've also made this easy mistake, one savvy mum has revealed how you can repurpose your dining room table to better suit your home - and it looks super chic too.

Posting on the Facebook group , the DIY fan explained how she was bored of her enormous dining table - especially with five kids in the house.

Rather than forking out for a smaller table, the woman wrote: "So I had this crazy idea to cut my old six seat dining table in half - and I have to say, I'm pleased with how it turned out."

The mum simply cut the table down the middle and screwed it into the walls to make a corner dining area.

Taking notes for her own home, a third raved: "OMG it looks wicked it gives you so much space!

"I have a big table like you and it takes up a room what I was looking to get was an extendable table but I think that's a brilliant idea."
