MANY spend a fortune on waxing and expensive laser treatments to maintain a hairless appearance.

In 2018, the Loose Women panellist kick started the discussion surrounding body hair, candidly sharing her struggle with trying to maintain a hairless appearance since puberty.

But following the release of her autobiography, Happily Imperfect, two years ago, the ITV star has become a body hair hero for many as she shuns female grooming.

Now Stacey has become a beacon of body positivity as she urges her three million Instagram followers to be happy in their skin, hairy legs and all, with her plethora of refreshingly honest posts.

And amid the coronavirus quarantine, Stacey has continued her message with wit admitting she won't shave her legs until she's out of lockdown and back to the Loose Women studios.

Embracing her hairy legs

In 2018, the former X Factor star began empowering women to embrace their body hair, urging her fellow females to stop the constant grooming if they no longer wanted to do it.

The mother-of-three, who was called "Furry" as a teen by her school pals, wrote in her Fabulous column at the time that if friends were bothered by unkempt body hair then "they're not worth knowing".

She penned: "So to all the women who think waxing, shaving and grooming is the bane of their life and wish they didn’t have to do it – you really DON’T. You really, really don’t.

"And if people don’t like you because you have normal body hair on your legs, they’re not worth knowing."

Last year, Stacey continued this message with her three million Instagram followers, when she shared tongue-in-cheek stories on her feed about embracing the "fuzz" after her baby bump left her unable to shave "below the knee".

Pregnant with son Rex at the time, her confession earned her praised from followers, who applauded her refreshingly honest reflection of pregnancy.

The TV favourite has always been brutally honest when it comes to body hair, regularly showing off her unshaven armpits as she confessed she doesn't have time to keep up with grooming as the mother of three boys.

In December, she also revealed that she had packed her razors away for winter and will also be letting her leg hair grow freely over Christmas.

She told fans: "It's officially tight season. Which means my razor is on vacation and my leg hairs can be free. Winter dresses here I come."

Down-to-earth Stacey admitted earlier this week that she had found a silver lining amid self-isolating during the coronavirus crisis.

She playfully told her followers that she would hold off shaving her "abominable snowman" legs until she has to go back to work.

"I know what you're thinking... 'if she has to self-isolate maybe she will finally take some time to shave those abominable snowman legs'," Stacey wrote on her Instagram story and adding laughing face emojis.

"I might maybe, probably not."

Chatting about her 'lady garden'

Stacey hasn't shied away from intimate matters in her battle to embrace her body hair and proudly admitted that she hasn't shaved her "lady garden" since welcoming her son Zachary 12 years ago.

Then 17-years-old, the presenter said she was left feeling "embarrassed" during her first gynaecologist visit while expecting for not grooming her "untrimmed bush".

She reflected: "It helped that no one was coming within a mile radius of my vagina after the trauma of childbirth but it was also because, when I was pregnant and went for my first appointment with a gynaecologist, I remember being extremely embarrassed about my untrimmed bush.

"So much so that I didn’t want her to do a swab. She informed me that it was imperative that she did and as I got into the gown, I said, 'I’m so sorry, I haven’t shaved and it looks disgusting.'

"She looked at me in horror and the 17-year-old me assumed she’d refuse to do the swab and send me back to shave and wash," Stacey added.

"Much to my surprise, her horrified look was because she couldn’t believe that I was apologising and so ashamed of my natural hair.

"She went on to explain to me that pubic hair is an important part of our bodies and that it serves many purposes."

Since that faithful exchange, Stacey revealed that she no longer feels "embarrassed" about not maintaining fuzz-free appearance and instead likened grooming to a "chore" - something we can agree on.

Stacey, who says she gets her "full hairy gene" from her Burmese grandfather, admitted: "I find shaving in general an utter chore so even removing the hair on the body parts that are on display happens on the rarest of occasions."

Loves her 'tache

Unashamedly herself in every way, Stacey even discussed how her "chin fuzz"; was helping soothe baby Rex.

Embracing the 'tache in December, she shared a video of her then seven-month-old son fast asleep with his hand on her face, Stacey told followers: "My favourite thing ever is how he strokes my beard to go to sleep!

"I have little fuzzy hairs on my chin and it just makes me so happy."

She captioned the clip: "Honestly love my chin fuzz more than ever right now!"

Since welcoming Rex, who she shares with boyfriend Joe Swash, in May, the former X Factor star has also opened up about her breastfeeding struggle, suffering from piles, and even fears that she now has a "giant vagina".

She has also been praised by fans for showing off her "mum tum" after welcoming her third child, and her brutally honest posts about her messy home.

In addition to Rex, Stacey is mum to seven-year-old Leighton and Zachary, 12, from previous relationships, with Joe dad to 12-year-old Harry.

Aside from being our body hair hero, Stacey revealed she is donating her spare room to the YMCA amid the corona crisis.

And here is what you need to know if you are self isolating with your other half.
