Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tell team to nix ANY work that pokes fun at the Queen or royal family, insider claims
PRINCE Harry has reportedly banned his and Meghan Markle’s new team for taking on any future projects that “mock” or “make fun of” the Queen or the royal family.
According to the, the Duke of Sussex, 35, has told their agent, Nick Collins of The Gersh Agency, that the couple will not do anything that is “detrimental to the Queen.”
Nick worked with Meghan during her days in Hollywood and is handling all film, TV and philanthropic ventures that come their way.
Meghan’s first project after stepping back as senior royals is narrating the new Disney documentary Elephant, which airs tomorrow on Disney+.
It comes after Prince Harry was filmed revealing Meghan’s interest in being involved in a project to Disney chief Bob Iger at last July's London premiere of the Lion King, while the couple were still royals.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex now aim to become financially independent, and experts have predicted they could Meghan alone will easily be earning a quarter of a billion dollars each year for the foreseeable future.
Speaking to MailOnline, Top PR guru Max Markson said: "They can write their own pay cheque because they are Harry and Meghan. The world is literally their oyster".
However, Harry has insisted that the couple will not play off any connection to the royal family, even if the price tag is huge.
Sources said he doesn’t want to spark further “bad blood” by using his royal links for money.
The source said: “Offers have come flooding in to Collins for Harry and Meghan. They are worth tens of millions of dollars and some offers are absolutely in their wheelhouse of charity ideas, however some are straight up advertising and marketing promotions and commercials.
“However, Harry has instructed his and Meghan's team to nix anything that in any way could be negative towards the royals. Essentially anything that is negative to the Queen, Prince Charles, his brother or the throne is off limits.
“It shows that even though he has stepped away from royal life, he does not want to upset his grandmother or father.”
It has been claimed that Nick has received offers from everyone from banks to liquor firms to sporting companies and entertainment firms.
Nick has maintained a friendship with Meghan, after representing her during her time on hit legal TV show Suits, and he also attended their 2018 royal wedding.
The Gersh Agency, where Nick started as an assistant in 2005 and later worked up to a partner in 2015 and Co-Head of Talent three years ago, has worked with the likes of Kristen Stewart, Adam Driver, Tobey Maguire and Jamie Foxx.
It was announced that Harry is working with Oprah Winfrey on a TV documentary, which is said to be scheduled for later this year.
This follows the couple attending an exclusive JPMorgan event in Miami in February, where Harry gave a speech.
