AVOIDING the crowds and sunbathing in the back garden?

It’s still important to get your swimwear right.

You don’t want nosey neighbours getting an eyeful or pesky bugs disturbing your peace.

Acting Fashion Editor Clemmie Fieldsend picks some celebrity examples to show you her golden rules for a golden glow in her backyard bikini guide.

Ditch the string two-piece

  • Blue striped briefs, £12.99 from hm.com -

YOU may be in what you consider the privacy of your own garden, but avoid going barely-there if you don’t want nosey neighbours peering over the fence and seeing your white bits.

Be like Love Island’s Malin Andersson, 27, and opt for more fully-covered sets.

WHEN sunning yourself in your garden it’s important to remember that teeny weeny bikinis can welcome in creepy-crawlies.

High-waisted bottoms will keep you bug-free.

They are also flattening on stomachs while offering coverage for your bum.

The look certainly works for Little Mix’s Leigh-Anne Pinnock, 28.

Watch out for underboob

  • Lilac briefs, £10 from prettylittlething.com -

WHILE flashing a bit of underboob can be sexy, beware of sunburn on your more sensitive areas that aren’t used to seeing as much light.

Instead, try bikini styles that sit comfortably under the bust, like model Rhian Sugden, 33, and have a thicker under-band for a secure fit.

Swimsuits for tops

IF you’re going to be dashing to the shops to grab an ice cream or another bottle of rosé, you probably don’t want to wear a bikini or have to go inside to change.

So try a swimsuit instead.

Stylish one-pieces with statement prints will give the illusion of a top, meaning you can pop out by just adding some shorts or a skirt.

Look for a swimsuit with detailing such as hot metallic finishes or a bright colour, like Victoria’s Secret Angel Elsa Hosk, 31.

Forget accessories

REMEMBER, you’re not at a pool party in Ibiza.

So ditch the weighty wedges, lobe-stretching earrings and layers of necklaces when just lazing in your garden.

Keep fuss to a minimum and embrace the plain look like Brazilian model Alessandra Ambrosio, 39.

You can try a frilled or detailed cossie to add some glamour to plain swimwear, though.

Avoid yellow

IT seems the go-to summer colour for some, but it’s actually one to steer clear of.

Thunder flies and wasps love buzzing around bright yellow and they’ll seriously disturb your tanning time.

You can still be bold by embracing busy prints or richer colours, like cosmetics queen Kylie Jenner, 22.
