Meghan Markle the most sought-after speaker in the world after Girl Up speech but may lack staying power, says expert
MEGHAN Markle could become the most sought-after public speaker in the world, after her stirring Girl Up speech last week.
According to PR expert Mark Borkowski, the Duchess of Sussex, 38, could command six figures per speech, but needs to be aware the interest may “diminish” over time.

Speaking to Fabulous, Mark said: “In the short, immediate term she could be the most sought-after speaker in the world.
“She’s very much on the message with Black Lives Matter, the cancel culture and issues related to mental health.
“Brands want to learn from high-profile people, so having someone like that in the room, it can boost publicity and draw delegates.
“She is an actress, she has remarkable delivery. It’s about whether or not going forward there is still the same interest.”
Mark explained that Meghan and Harry should consider limiting the volume of speeches they make, to keep the same appeal after stepping back as senior royals in March.
He explained: “It's a noisy world, there is always the next big person to come out of the shadows.
“If you end up doing too many, if you are the gun to hire and turning up at the same places, your demand diminishes.
“You choose one to four key moments a year to make a speech, then everyone is hanging on your words.
“The sky isn't quite the limit as you can't do it month in and month out as your subject matter wears out.
“Michelle Obama has been on the circuit for a few years, people have heard what she has to say.”
It was announced the royal couple have joined the Harry Walker Agency – which also counts the Obamas, Clintons, Serena and Venus Williams, and TV legend Oprah Winfrey as clients – in their first career move since moving to Hollywood.
He said: “In the short term, this is a billion dollar brand.
“Meghan could earn at least £200,000 per speech, but if it is a keynote big speech for one of the big banks, many hundreds of thousands of pounds.”
Last week, Meghan made her moving appearance at the virtual Girl Up leadership summit.
In her powerful speech, Meghan accused world leaders of not listening to young people fighting against climate change and racial injustice.
Meghan’s speech has so far been viewed over 100,000 times, making it the most popular at the summit, ahead of Michelle Obama, currently on 30,000 and Hillary Clinton on 7,000 views.
