Princess Diana’s niece Amelia Spencer says ‘can’t wait’ to marry uni pal Greg Mallett as she shows off engagement ring
THERE’S another royal wedding on the horizon as Princess Diana’s niece is set to marry.
Lady Amelia Spencer got engaged to her university beau Greg Mallett on July 22, and the bride-to-be says she “can’t wait to marry.”
The daughter of Diana’s brother, Earl Spencer, shared several snaps of her sparkling new engagement ring on her private Instagram account according to !.
The cousin of Princes William and Harry, wrote: “I can’t wait to spend forever with you @gregmallett, I couldn’t love you more.”
Charles Spencer was also quick to share his congratulations to the couple over Twitter, revealing that Gregg has asked for his blessing to marry.
He wrote: “So happy for my daughter, Amelia, engaged to her boyfriend of 11 years, Greg – it’s wonderful to hear them both so excited about their future.
“Sending them both love, and every good wish for their life together. I love that Greg asked my blessing before proposing. Very sweet.”
The groom-to-be initially announced the happy news on Instagram last week.
Sharing several sunset snaps Greg wrote: “So this was the best day of my life.
“22nd of July 2020 I asked the love of my life to spend the rest of her life with me and she said YES.
“Couldn’t be happier and I love you with all my heart.”
Amelia’s older sister Kitty, was among those to share her best wishes.
The Dolce & Gabbana model commented: “BROTHER-TO-BE!!!! Happiest times ahead!!!”
Estate agent Gregg, nicknamed Grizzle, has been dating Amelia for 11 years according to , after meeting at the University of Cape Town.
The 30-year-old reportedly popped the question at Clouds Wine and Guest Estate, boasting stunning views of “the world’s most beautiful mountain passes.”
Amelia, whose first name is actually Katya, is the daughter of the former British model Victoria Aitken and Earl Spencer.
She was born in Britain but grew up in Cape Town with her twin sister Eliza with siblings Kitty and Louis after her family moved there in 1995.
Her older sister Kitty also announced her engagement this year to a multi-millionaire twice her age.
