Luke Goss on his celeb crush & what good he thinks will come out of lockdown
LUKE Goss, 51, found fame in the ’80s in boy band Bros with twin Matt and has since forged a successful Hollywood film career.
He talks to Fabulous about his fears, first kiss and what makes him laugh the most.
What scares you?
Restriction of movement. Not claustrophobia, but to be confined. I’m definitely a free spirit.
What do you think happens when we die?
I don’t think we die.
What is your favourite word?
Love. It’s the entire foundation of humanity.
What is your worst habit?
Not finding a good reason to go to sleep. I need 10 hours of sleep a night, but I only get between three and five.
Who makes you laugh the most?
David Chappelle. He’s my favourite comedian.
What was your favourite TV show as a child?
Porridge, Rising Damp and Only Fools And Horses – whatever my parents were watching at the time.
What is your earliest memory?
Being in Spain with Matt, Mum and Dad – before they broke up when we were five – swimming with our Dumbo and Mickey Mouse rubber rings.
Who was your first kiss?
A girl called Nadia when I was 10. It was all lovely, warm and wet as it should be, and we walked away with red faces.
Who is your celebrity crush?
Natalie Portman – I love her composure and the fact that she’s a lady. I don’t know her in person, but there’s something about her that’s classy, feminine and beautiful. The women I admire in my life are powerful, but sweet, kind, lovely, big laughing, amazing girls. Shirley [Lewis, singer and Luke’s wife] would be on that list, for sure!
Tea or coffee?
Both, though not at the same time – that would be weird. First thing in the morning I have a glass of lemon water because of the alkaline, then always coffee.
What do you never leave the house without?
Goodwill.
Tidy or messy?
I am leaning heavily towards tidy, but my house is very eclectic and if things get smashed or wine gets spilled I don’t care even 1%. My art is irreplaceable, but if lamps or record decks get broken, I’ll get another.

Who would you invite to a dinner party?
Larry Tesler and Einstein. The two of them at dinner? My god! But I’d want a bunch of other people just to make sure it didn’t get too serious, including John Lennon, of course.
What good do you think will come out of lockdown?
It’s already happening. I think the planet will benefit and if people are smart, a part of them will give even 10% time to themselves per day in solitude to realise that we are living in a time of history.
Do you have a party trick?

This one’s best to try after a few drinks. Go up to your mate, ask them to put their two forefingers on the bar about two inches apart, lie an entire pint on top of the fingers then walk away
from the bar.
