Mum-of-16 reveals how she has the ‘birds and bees’ talk with her kids… & apparently it’s all about having a ‘date night’
A MUM-of-16 has revealed exactly how she delivers the talk about the "birds and the bees" - by taking her kids out on a special date night.
Tiffany and Benji Nelson, from America, are the proud parents of 16 kids, ranging from 23-years-old to 11-months-old.
It’s nine-year-old PaisLee’s turn to have the talk, and Tiffany said: “I am carefully excited, nervously, anyway lots of words to describe how I feel about today’s video.

“So for us, around the age of eight or nine is when we have found our kids have questions and they don’t have any preconceived notions, it’s the least awkward, and their friends haven’t gotten to them to talk about their version of the birds and bees.
“We found if we wait until they are 10 or 11 most of the time they have learned all about it from somebody else other than us, and we want our kids to learn about that kind of stuff, that’s very important and special from their parents who love them.
“This is how we do it - a few days before I usually make a cute little invite and I place it on their pillow and they find it.
“And they are able to feel really special that they got a special invite to go on a mum and dad date, and it’s kind of a dress up fun thing. They look forward to it and it’s special.
“We usually go somewhere fun and kind of fancy and special, and we have the talk.”
She writes out the invite, complete with glitter, which says: “You are invited on a very special date! This is like no other date before, a special time to spend with mommy and daddy.”
It adds they’re going to a “fancy restaurant”, so she needs “fancy clothes” for the “special night”.
And recalling how her other kids reacted, Tiffany said: “I’m really interested to see how PaisLee will react to this, this is my 11th kiddo giving the talk to.
“I remember Kassidy, oh my goodness, the entire time she felt so awkward, she was just covering her face and giggly.
“Other kids were just very matter of fact and very scientific about it.”
PaisLee puts on a white tulle dress she wore to her sister’s wedding, with dad Benji saying she looks like a "princess", as she says she reckons she looks like she’s going to prom.
The trio head off to a fancy restaurant, where Tiffany says: “This is the talk about where babies come from.”
She asks PaisLee her thoughts, to which she replies: “Your stomach.”
Tiffany starts off the ‘awkward’ conversation by asking her if she’s heard of the word ‘sex’, and PaisLee starts giggling and looks horrified.
Her mum reassures her, saying: “Well guess what, it’s not naughty. Isn’t that crazy. It’s actually very special.
