Savvy woman transforms boring kitchen into Mrs Hinch-inspired space with a lick of paint & it looks amazing
NOT only did Mrs Hinch kickstart our obsession with cleaning - but she has also got us into grey interiors in a BIG way.
The social media star is famous for her love of grey velvet furniture and recently revamped her immaculate kitchen - and now one savvy woman has revealed how you can replicate it on the cheap.
Speaking to , 22-year-old Chloe Bradley admitted she was never a fan of the plain white kitchen in the new build she bought her with her boyfriend Tom last year.
But instead of spending a small fortune replacing the perfectly-good counters and cupboards, the teaching assistant decided to revamp the space herself.
She said: "Although it wasn't an awful kitchen, it just really wasn't to our taste and wasn't what we would have chosen. The rest of our house and decor is more of a grey colour palette so it just really doesn't match our whole aesthetic."
After doing her research online, the mum-to-be bought two cans of Frenchic's Al Fresco £17 paint in a Mrs Hinch-approved shade of dark grey.
"I had seen lots of people on Facebook using Frenchic paint to upcycle their furniture and kitchens," she said. "I'm quite a crafty person so after doing some research and looking at other people's projects on Facebook I decided to give it a go myself."
To begin with, Chloe used sugar soap to clean the outside of the cupboards to get rid of any lingering dirt or grease.
As they'd been decorated with glossy paint, the DIY fan also had to sand down the cupboards before painting over it.
"The first coat always looks terrible which can make you panic and think ‘oh no, what have I done?" she said. "But by the fourth coat, you get a really nice even surface. Once I had painted all of the doors and reattached them, I left the paint to cure for a couple of days before I reattached the handles."
Unsurprisingly, Chloe and Tom are delighted with the results - and the mum-to-be said it feels like she's got a whole new kitchen.
She added: "Doing it myself using the Frenchic paint has saved me literally hundreds of pounds.
"New doors would have cost a fortune but I've managed to complete this project for under £60 including paint, brushes and cleaning supplies."
