Celebrate Roald Dahl Story Day with an exclusive extract from the new graphic novel version of The Witches
IT has been thrilling – and scaring – kids for almost 40 years, and now Roald Dahl classic The Witches is being updated for a whole new generation.
The children’s book is the first of the much-loved author’s works to be brought to life as a graphic novel, with illustrations by French artist Penelope Bagieu.
The spine-tingling tale tells how witches are real but wear ordinary clothes, do ordinary jobs and live in ordinary towns across the world.
They could even be your teacher or headmistress. Together, they are united in one mission – to wipe out all children.
Can one eight-year-old boy and his gutsy Grandmamma stop them?
A movie adaptation, starring Anne Hathaway, is also due out next year.
To mark Roald Dahl Story Day on Sunday, here we bring you an exclusive peek at the new graphic novel.
We join the action where our hero finds himself accidentally eavesdropping on a top-secret meeting of witches as they throw off their disguises and reveal their terrifying true faces . . .
- WE have 20 copies of The Witches Graphic Novel for you to win. The beautifully illustrated hardback book is priced at £12.99. To enter and for terms and conditions, simply visit:
