SQUAT TO IT

The latest Instagram pose taking the celeb world by storm – with Dua Lipa, Zara McDermott & more showcasing their bums

THIS was the year for at-home workouts, so it perhaps comes as no surprise that the latest pose sweeping social media involves some serious effort.

And Dua Lipa and Pixie Lott are just two of the many celebs that have given the sexy new 'squat pose' a try recently.

While New Rules singer Dua Lipa, 25, pouted in front of a mirror and showed off her pert posterior in a hot pink dress with cut out loops for her photo, Pixie, 29, came over all coy, placing a bag in front of her peachy behind as she balanced impressively in knee-high heeled boots.

And they’re not the only ones to pop a sexy squat.

From Kylie Jenner to Zara McDermott and Emily Ratajkowski, celebs both sides of the pond have been showcasing the pose, which involves a low squat and a heavy pout.

Hip cleavage

Forget boobs, for a time the hip bone became the most fashionable body part thanks to the craze for high-leg swimwear.

Women on beaches all over the world were seen adopting the pose, which involves exposing the hips and the sexy crease between the thigh and the hip, and it was a huge hit with curvier celebs to showcase what nature blessed them with.

Plus-sized model Ashley Graham was the trendsetter for the viral hip cleavage pose and Kim Kardashian was even a devotee.

Barbie feet

Barbie’s impressive pins have been envied by women the world over - so it's easy to see why this one was so popular, as it gives the illusion of never ending legs and it’s one of the easiest ones to perfect.

It basically involves stepping onto your toes, pointing your feet as if you have high heels on, just like the famous doll, and flexing your muscles a little bit.

It was adopted by petite celebs like Kourtney Kardashian and snaps were typically taken on the beach in swimwear or aboard a yacht.

The Bambi

Beloved by the likes of Love Island star Megan Barton-Hanson and former I’m A Celeb winner Vicky Pattison, The Bambi is inspired by the classic Disney movie and was such a huge hit, it even had its own Instagram account.

To get it right, you need to kneel down on the floor with your thighs over your calves - like a cute baby deer.

From here, you can mix it up a bit by either leaning back, putting your hand on your hip or stretching up in the air.

Not to be outdone, model Bella Hadid went one step further though and lay back on a patch of grass for a Full Body Bambi.

The Plandid

This one gets its name from a hybrid of the words 'planned' and 'candid' and the whole point is that it’s meant to look like the celeb has just been snapped off-guard, even if they’ve spent hours carefully arranging it.

The most popular place for The Plandid snap was near a swimming pool with either one or both hands in the air.

Other shots include staring sideways into the distance or a classic hair flick.

Love Island star Olivia Buckland is an experienced Plandid Poser, while Made in Chelsea star Lucy Watson is also a fan of this one.

The T-Rex

The phrase T-Rex hands was coined by Iraqi-American makeup artist and beauty blogger Huda Kattan - and is said to make hands look elegant, resulting in a killer selfie.

And while this pose may look simple, don’t be fooled though, it takes a lot of practice to get your hands to look natural as you hold them near your face as you don’t want them to look claw-like.

Don’t even attempt this without having a manicure first though.
Jennifer Lopez, US actress Zendaya and British model Jourdan Dunn literally had it nailed.

When it comes to exercise, the dreaded squat is bottom of the list for us mere mortals but it’s certainly worth giving this position a try, judging by these stunning pictures.

It doesn’t matter whether you choose to squat facing the camera, side-on or from behind, they all look flattering.

If directly facing the camera, the pose will help to make your legs look longer and leaner, while side-on (as demonstrated by Love Island star Zara McDermott), the hot squat will make your bum appear peachier.

But if you’re looking for maximum impact, try taking the picture from behind as it will give the illusion your waist is smaller, making your bum look even bigger.

Body Language Expert Traci Brown said: “This is a real superhero pose. It says, ‘I’m ready to jump into action at any time’, and that you can take on anything.

“It’s a power move for women.”

She added it can also “show ownership” if they are leaning on an object in the snap.

Traci, author of book Persuasion Point: Body Language and Speech for Influence, said the pose is also super flattering.

She said: “It accentuates how long a woman’s legs are, which is perceived as very sexy.

“It does give a different angle for celebrities to show off their thighs and glutes so we can see how fit they really are.”

One of the most popular positions favoured by celebs is having one knee close to the ground while the is pushed out to the front or side.

Not only does the pose look great, it will also help to sculpt your behind because they strengthen and tone glutes and thighs.

If you try doing them balancing on one leg they’ll also work your core.
