Royal Family news latest – Queen ‘deeply upset’ by Prince Harry’s ‘personal’ criticisms but Charles keen to heal rift
PRINCE Harry can only heal his rift with Prince William if he and Meghan Markle split up, a royal expert has claimed.
Kinsey Schofield believes the brother's relationship could only go back to normal if the Duchess of Sussex is "out of the picture".
"Sadly, I think the only way that things would go back to normal is if Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were to separate and Prince Harry returned to the UK solo," she told the
"However, Harry would never leave his children in another country."
Hopes of improved relations were raised after they chatted at Prince Philip’s funeral last month.
But when a statue of Diana is unveiled in July, Harry and William will give separate speeches.
In a sign their feud has yet to heal, there will be no joint address.

The sector is undergoing a "massive transition", Charles said, noting that more than 100,000 family farms have been lost in the last 30 years.
And, writing in The Guardian, he said family farms needed to be a "key part in any fair, inclusive, equitable and just transition to a sustainable future".
Earlier this year, Charles launched the Terra Carta initiative, and encouraged the private sector to safeguard the planet by adopting sustainability and invest 10 billion dollars (£7.3 billion) in "natural capital".

He added: “I don’t feel I can be held responsible for many of the other things that were going on in her life, and complex issues surrounding those decisions.
“I can understand the motivation but to channel the tragedy, the difficult relationship between the Royal Family and the media, purely on to my shoulders feels a little unreasonable.

BASHIR 'SCARED DIANA HALF TO DEATH'
BBC journalist Martin Bashir scared Diana "half to death" with frightening meetings in underground car parks, a royal expert says.
Andrew Morton, who penned a biography on the princess, said Bashir wouldn't have scored the Panorama interview if he hadn't lied to her.
Asked by Sky presenter Trevor Phillips if Bashir would have got the interview if he hadn't lied, Mr Morton blasted: "He wouldn't have got it, simple as that. He scared her half to death.
"He arranged meetings in underground car parks - they're scary places at best of times, but when you think your life in danger, it was very potent.
"She was put in state of fear and trepidation and it encouraged her to speak out."
PRITI PATEL SLAMS BBC FOR DIANA INTERVIEW
Priti Patel has slammed the BBC and refused to rule out criminal prosecutions over its 1995 interview with Princess Diana.
The Home Secretary warned the corporation's reputation has been damaged following Lord Dyson's report into Martin Bashir's "deceitful behaviour" to secure the interview.
Ms Patel added that the mid-term review of the BBC would be a "very, very significant moment" for the corporation - where "lessons have to be learned".
She told Sky News's Trevor Phillips: "If there is subsequent action that needs to be taken, then clearly - alongside the publication of this report and lessons being learned and changes, changes to the institution, structure, governance, accountability - then that will follow."
The Home Secretary added: "The BBC itself - one of our great institutions - its reputation has been compromised."

HOW MUCH DID HARRY INHERIT FROM DIANA?
The Duke of Sussex told Oprah Winfrey he and wife Meghan Markle relied on the money he inherited from his mother, Princess Diana.
Prince Harry, 34, revealed his mother, Princess Diana, was the reason he and Meghan, 39, were able to leave the Royal Family last year.
He told Oprah Winfrey in a two-hour televised interview he was now living off money left to him by his late mother after being “cut off financially” early last year when he and Meghan moved to the US.
Harry told Oprah: “I’ve got what my mum left me and without that we wouldn’t have been able to do this. It’s like she saw it coming and she’s been with us through this whole process.”
Although he did not reveal the sum during the chat, it is understood Harry was left about £6.5million ($9million) when his mother died 23 years ago.

It comes after Harry hit out again, just two month after the bombshell Oprah interview.

The Duke of Sussex, 36, shared the footage on the fifth episode of his documentary series which was released on Friday.
In one clip, believed to be taken in the sprawling gardens of Harry and Meghan’s $14 million Santa Barbara home, the toddler can be seen sitting on a swing facing another person, presumably Prince Harry.
Elsewhere, colour footage of Archie and his parents, Meghan and Harry, playing on the beach was shown, which fans first saw in black and white during the couple’s explosive Oprah Winfrey chat.

William said: “The funny thing is when I spoke to my family I found it so good to catch up — but then you haven’t anything to catch up on because no one had done anything.”
When one guest said they had not seen their in-laws for a year, Wills, in an apparent dig at sister-in-law Meghan, joked: “Some people are happy they haven’t seen their in-laws for a year.” After laughter, he added: “I love my in-laws.”

‘HARRY’S CHOICE TO OPEN UP COMES AT A COST’
Harry’s decision to open up about mental health struggles “comes at a cost”, a royal expert has warned.
Brand and reputation management expert Eric Schiffer told the : “Prince Harry has every right to describe the private pain that he may have dealt with and being transparent is likely healthy for him and his own personal life.
“But it comes with a cost, because he can’t firewall off his royal DNA and the responsibilities and obligations that come with that.
“His choice to share these personal matters in many ways makes him a greater target and more exposed to being vulnerable on the privacy side.”
PRINCE WILLIAM TELLS FEMALE ADMIRER, 96, ‘YOU’RE MAKING ME BLUSH’ AS HE JOKES ON CARE HOME VISIT AFTER BASHIR SCANDAL
PRINCE William had to politely fend off the advances of a 96-year-old female admirer as he joked “you are making me blush”. The duke showed no signs of stress amid the Martin Bashir BBC scandal as he joked and chatted with elderly residents of a care home in Edinburgh.
The father-of-three described how “tiring” fatherhood was during lockdown and how difficult it is to get George, 7, out of shorts and into long trousers. Residents at Queen’s Bay Lodge care home snacked on ice cream and sipped tea as they were treated to their royal visit.
But it was great-grandmother and ex-servicewoman Betty Magee, 96, who stole William’s attention. As the duke took a seat at her table in a marquee in the grounds of the care home, she said: “It’s customary in these parts to give a lady a kiss on the cheek.”
William replied: “Oh you are sweet. You’ll make me blush.”
Betty persisted asking her prince to give her a peck as William laughed and covered his face in mock embarrassment, adding: “When the rules relax more I will come back and give you a kiss on the cheek Betty.”
QUEEN ’IS SAD’ SHE NOT CANNOT SEE GREAT-GRANDSON ARCHIE
The Queen has suffered “sadness” at barely seeing Archie and is unlikely to meet Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s second baby unless they come to the UK, Ingrid Seward has revealed.
Ingrid, who is editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine, shares her extraordinary insights into the monarch’s relationship with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren in this week’s Fabulous magazine.
And she claims that the Sussex’s distance from the royal family has indeed been a low point for the Monarch.
Ingrid says: “The Sussexes, who have barely set foot in the UK since relocating to the US and are unlikely to return any time soon after their Oprah interview sent shockwaves through the royal family.
“Meghan is due to give birth to their daughter – the Queen’s 11th great-grandchild – imminently, but unless Meghan and Harry bring the baby to Britain, the Queen won’t get to meet her. She has barely seen Archie since he was born, a source of sadness for her – though she is said to have wished him happy birthday via Zoom when he turned two this month.”

Asked by Sky presenter Trevor Phillips if Bashir would have got the interview if he hadn’t lied, Mr Morton blasted: “He wouldn’t have got it, simple as that. He scared her half to death.

“She was put in state of fear and trepidation and it encouraged her to speak out.”
