TAKEN ITS TROLL

Mrs Hinch hits back at ‘idiot’ troll who said she’s ‘gaining weight’ after giving birth to son Lennie

MRS Hinch has amassed over 4.2m followers on Instagram thanks to her top cleaning tips and stunning home interiors content.

But one of the downsides of being an influencer means you're probably going to get trolls slipping into your DMs on an almost daily basis - something Sophie knows all about.

Earlier this week, the mum-of-two - who welcomed her second son Lennie in May - shared a recipe for a "cheese spin wheel" on her Instagram Stories.

Posting a step-by-step tutorial, Sophie filmed herself placing soft cheese on some puff pastry and covering it in a generous amount of red onion chutney and cheddar.

Next, she added another layer of puff pastry over the top, gave it an egg wash and sprinkled over some chia seeds.

The mum then popped the cheese wheel in the oven until it was golden and shared footage of her tearing off a delicious-looking slice.

Describing it as "simple, quick and easy", Sophie joked: "Calories = let’s not talk about that."

Using the remark as an opportunity to criticise, one anonymous troll felt the need to message the mum and comment on her appearance.

They wrote: "No wonder you are putting on weight eatin’ that s**t, Hinch."

Sharing a screengrab of the message, Sophie hit back: "Well… I can assure you that the only s**t thing about this food are the chia seeds still stuck in my teeth!!

"Apart from that it’s cracking..!"

In her recent bestselling memoir, This Is MeSophie revealed that she's been taking antidepressants to cope with online trolls.

She wrote: "These people have almost destroyed me and the fact that I am on medication for depression and anxiety for the first time in my life is largely down to what they have put me through."

She details the daily deluge of abusive messages to her inbox and the sustained hate campaigns on trashing forums that exist “only to ridicule, torment and abuse”.

While it's something she experiences often, the effects of the trolling came to a head around in December 2019 when a stream of abuse and body-shaming triggered a panic attack, which “felt like I was dying”.

The ordeal took days to recover from and she knew she had to speak to a doctor about the toll it was having on her mental health.

Her GP prescribed medication she says helps her “keep things on more of an even keel,” but she still frequently grapples with her anxiety from time to time - using cleaning as a way to cope.
